Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a beautiful conservative option for an esthetic enhancement of your smile. Veneers are made for 8, 10, or12 teeth depending on the patients smile line. Veneers can be made for the upper or lower teeth. Porcelain veneers are a custom lab fabricated thin layer of porcelain that is bonded to the teeth. Patients often choose veneers when they want a uniform smile of consistent shape and color of the teeth.

The first step in veneer preparation is healthy gum tissue. A comprehensive exam , cleaning and periodontal evaluation is preformed before any type of treatment. With veneers it is imperative that the gum tissue is healthy and without any inflammation, if the gum tissue is unhealthy and inflamed it will be impossible to seat the veneers properly. The process for veneers includes pre-op photos, x-rays, and impressions for study models. The lab also uses the models to make a wax model of the teeth. The wax model is used to review the case with the patient prior to any work done in the mouth. The wax model is also used to make the template for the temporary veneers which a patient wears in the interim between the prep appointment and the seating of the veneers. Many times patients see immediate improvement in their smiles even with the temporary veneers. Porcelain veneers are a very conservative by removing the smallest amount of tooth structure possible. Porcelain veneers offer patients the perfect “Hollywood smile”. Patients can actually choose the shade they would like their teeth to be without any whitening. With proper home care and professional care veneers can last for 10 years and beyond. We have many patients who have been happy with their results.
